Alkalize for Optimal Health by AlkaLiza

Hi Friends,

So, I wanted to introduce you again to why my name is AlkaLiza…..it is a silly pun on my first name of course, but it means much more than that. About one year ago, I was reintroduced to the pH scale in the body. I remembered this from high school but thought it had more to do with water, like checking the pH level of a fish tank or a pool but discovered the pH level of your blood is very important. Actually, a fish tank is a good analogy for the body and your blood is the water. We’ve all seen slimy and murky fish tanks which can potentially be very dangerous for the fish occupying said tank. Your blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to your cells but also carries out metabolic waste from those cells.  So, if your blood is not alkalized, it can lead to acidosis which basically leaves your body in a disease susceptible state. Your blood should range from approximately 7.2 to 7.3 on the pH scale. It’s not difficult to get your blood pH level tested if you’re curious, just go to your doctor and have them add it to your annual blood work. This is an excellent indicator of health! Dr. Otto Warburg won the 1939 Nobel Peace Prize for his findings that disease, especially cancer cannot exist in an oxygen rich, alkaline state. So, how can figure out if your fish tank is murky without going to the doctor? It’s pretty easy and we’ve developed a great package with 4 awesome products to help alkalize you from the inside out. It’s our Alkalizing Mega Pack, The Alkalizer which contains:

1. pH strips to test your urine or saliva
2. Chlorella/Spirulina Tablets
3. Baking Soda
4. MSM

pH strips: I love these and test my urine often. It is not my blood but if the results are within 6 to 8.5 pH level in the urine, it is safe to say that your blood is alkalized. If your pH level falls below 6, then your body is working overtime to reduce acid levels which can lead to health problems. When I started my journey, my urine tested between 4 and 4.5….no bueno!

Chlorella/Spirulina Tablets: Ok, some peeps love the taste of C/S but I am a hater! I do however, suck it up for the health benefits because these 2 separately are awesome, but together they are super awesome. Each is a complete food containing almost all of the amino acids which are the building blocks of protein and they are total detoixfiers which can assist in cleaning the blood.

Baking Soda: Taking a bath with baking soda is super alkalizing for your skin! Bob’s  is the best because it’s aluminum free. It also makes a great face mask/exfoliator. Just mix baking soda and water to make a gooey paste, apply without rubbing and leave on for about 15 minutes. It is said this one is great for acne sufferers too!

MSM: This stuff is magical and comes from the Mariana’s Trench which is thousands of feet below sea level. MSM gives your body a sulfur boost. Sulfur is used when the body’s cells expel toxins as a means to neutralize the toxin so that it doesn’t cause more damage on the way out. Yay! Suggested use is different for everyone but I have heard it takes about 1 tablespoon/day to see the benefits. Enjoy in water with lemon….a natural alkalizer! This is another great product for acne sufferers with sulfur deficiencies.

LOVE!

60 Years Old?! Happy Birthday Lou Corona

ORIGINALLY POSTED ON 2011/08/25 by Josh at HealthInsurgence.com

Today is the 60th birthday of raw/living food guru and teacher Lou Corona. Lou’s been on a strict diet of NO cooked food since he was 21, and apparently, well, he’s onto something.

While I’m not a raw foodist (at least yet), I stumbled onto Lou when looking for information on Alkalizing your body, to show someone what I was talking about. There was Lou with popular Raw Food YouTuber “Dan the Man”. Little did I know this “hippy” and and this guy with the black hair would put me on a course to elevate my vitality to the next level. Since then I’ve attended one of Lou’s workshops at one of his weekly free workshops near San Diego and seen the man in action.

One of the most amazing concoctions in the Juicing game has been popularized by Mr. Corona via the almighty LEMON GINGER BLAST. Drinking a glass of this a day can change your frickin’ LIFE, NO DOUBT! A couple weeks after downing the LGB and I was loading and unloading 60 boxes of books up and down a flight of stairs by myself without breaking a sweat, and I hadn’t worked out in months.

At Health Insurgence, and ChargedLife.com, we feel there’s nothing better than real life examples to aspire to, and Lou’s one of them. Check out the videos below to see Lou in action.

And here is a clip of Dan and Lou making the LGB in Lou’s homebase. Dan, God love ‘em, really likes to talk so you may skip a bit to the recipe if you’re in a hurry, but this is worth the watch! I’m also listing the ingredients below, but not in specific proportions.

Dan by the way just finished a bike ride from LA to NY on raw fruits & veg.

So Happy B-DAY, Lou!

AN EFFECT OF SODA-POP THAT MANY HAVEN’T HEARD

Long has the debate raged – Soda or Pop? Pop or Soda? Soda Pop? Which one is it?! The only thing we can all agree on is that those people in the South calling it all Coke regardless of flavor are weirdos.

YUMMY!

On a more serious note the debate that usually follows is between the evils of ‘regular’ vs. diet soda. Pick your poison – over a dozen teaspoons of sugar in a can, or toxic artificial sweeteners? Well, I’m asking you to forget all of that for a second because regardless of the two the biggest problem I see is the ACIDITY.

How do they keep all of that sugar from falling to the bottom? Think about it – you can sit there and stir sugar into a glass of tea or kool-aid all day long, as soon as you stop the sugar’s all sinking to the bottom. The way they keep this happening in soda pop (and most any other beverage) is by injecting massive amounts of phosphoric acid into the formula (or something comparable). The sugar alone is acid-causing. The other chemicals in it are acid-causing. So hey, why play around? Let’s add some ACID into the mix and take it off the charts. Why is that bad? If you read my blurb on acidic vs. alkaline blood it will shed light on the subject. The diet-sweeteners are also linked to everything from cancer to Alzheimer’s, but many people already know that. Less soda pop means more ALKALINE blood, which means a healthier, less hurty, more vibrant YOU.

I’m bringing this up because it’s a different way of looking at it – and realizing how quickly removing it from, or reducing it in your diet may help you. It’s what helped me. I tried for years to break the habit, but nothing worked, but once light was shed on this aspect everything changed for me.

The average soda pop is a highly addictive substance that has so many negative impacts on ones health you can fill an entire book – and people have. Yet we continue to consume this stuff like crack addicts, mostly because it tastes so darn good, and let me tell you, I was probably the king of fountain drinks. There was just something about the pop from the “tap” that was just better, and I used to consume about THREE forty-four oz. buckets of diet soda a day. Yes, you read that right. And it was specifically diet. I was raised on the stuff, and always preferred it, oddly enough. Little did I know as a teenager that it was probably causing me even more problems than the blast of high fructose corn syrup would have from the ‘real’ pop.

Looking back I now believe the massive amounts of soda raising the acid levels in my blood accounted for blotchy skin in my high-school years, pre-mature symptoms of muscular aches and pains, and the accumulation of lipoma cysts when I was 20 years old. The latter of which the doctors did biopsies on to ensure nothing was malignant, but when asked provided me no useful knowledge of what may cause these and how to prevent more from forming. I continued to ‘abuse’ soda for the next ten years.

Eventually I was able to transition from my diet soda habit to a healthy tea concoction I’ve been making of late, and the occasional all natural, non sugar based soda every month or so. Coffee actually helped, but it took a while. In the future I can give a step-by-step example of how I got off the ‘fizzy sauce’. Until then, I hope this helps inspire people to re-examine this toxic substance that is causing more problems than most people think – no matter how delicious it is. Maybe just grab the 12 ouncer next time you hit the Quicky Mart, instead of that jumbo 64 mug, or a small glass bottle of the imported Mexican soda if you can get it (they still use cane sugar) and have some carbonated mineral water instead – I think you’ll be surprised how quickly positive changes start to happen! And those positive changes are what can give you the motivation to get off of it completely.
